I like to begin the day with a combination of prayer and meditation.
Meditation is about receiving. Gently we begin to open to receiving God's messages. Less chatter in our minds, more clarity in our hearts. I've discovered that meditation can be achieved in many ways. We may find peace in listening to music, reading poetry, gardening or maybe even taking a nice stroll. You can start by taking a moment to your self in the morning before beginning the day. Even 3 minutes is a good start to begin to listen to the stillness, and enjoy the quietness of the early morning. The inner quiet comes to us when the mind is at ease. This is a peace that showers us with a warm breeze. It should not feel hard, but like a simple act. The only requirement is listening with your heart.
